Intro
For my fifth episode (not a lot, but you have to celebrate commitment), I decided to do something fun, non-research-based, and totally provocative - a tier list! Because I have strong opinions on fruits, I decided to make one on them. While this tier list has some repeating images, I just felt like it/didn't want to change tier lists, so here it is! Enjoy these totally pointless opinions I have (and yes, some of these are vegetables, it's highly situational.)!!!

The D Tier - Painful to eat
Dragonfruits: Maybe I haven't tried them in their native country, but the ones we have here I find flavourless and slimy. The only thing cool about this fruit is its skin.
Honeydew: Nothing about this reminds me of honey. Nothing.
Persimmon: Too sweet, too orange, too deceptively good looking. I'm not a fan of sweet fruits.
The C Tier - Not good, not bad
This is mostly fruits that I haven't tried/vegetables I don't want to write about, with a few, genuinely okay fruits in there. They are:
Watermelon: Too watery yet still too sweet, but a minimally better texture than persimmons.
Peaches/Nectarines/whatever they are: Some of them are great, some of them are bad.
Pears: They feel like a dry, dull apple, with a bit too much water for my taste, but still - similar to an apple, so gets a C tier.
The B Tier - Decent
Grapes: Small, juicy, sweet bundles of joy, but can also be too watery/crunchy for my taste. I prefer long ones over round ones.
Grapefruit: I'm pretty sure I've tried this one, and it was....okay? Gets extra points for being related to oranges.
Plums: Plums have a pretty cool texture and colour, but it's the seed that gets me.
Strawberries: When good, they are sweet, soft berries that I love to eat on a warm summer's day. Some of them can be a bit flavourless, though.
Bananas: It's something about the smell that makes me prefer plantains to these, but other than that they taste good.
Oh wait, peaches again????: I don't know what I was doing when I made this list. Can you tell that I'm tired? I'm tired.
Pomegranate: If only I could eat them without the seed, they would be S tier without the seed... As you can see, I am biased towards smaller fruits/fruit sections.
Passionfruit: For me, convenience is a big deal-breaker. It's the seeds. I like the tropical sweet taste to this one, and it goes well when cubes of it are put in water. But then you have to spit out the seeds while drinking...
Limes: Another bias of mine: Sour things. I like biting these, but still prefer the slightly less sour lemons.
Coconut: Water: S tier. Flesh: C tier.
The A Tier - Yummy
Blueberries: Small, sometimes tart, sometimes sweet. My family usually U-Picks them in the summer, which is super fun!
Cherries: I love the texture and juiciness of cherries, perfect for summer snacking.
Pineapple: I rarely eat these, usually when on vacation somewhere warm, but when I do their flavour just pops wonderfully. I put them in A tier because I'm not sure if they're a one time treat sort of fruit or a regularly delicious thing.
Lemons: You can say that they're a garnish, you can say that they're too sour, but still: Citrus fruits don't disappoint. I like putting them into my water and them eating them afterwards.
Oranges/Mandarins: The sweeter cousin of lemons, I grew to love these over the years. Orange juice is great too!
Mangoes: Another tropical favourite fruit, the sweetness and texture of this makes it irresistible. Pricey though....
Avocados: If you have not tried it before, make avocado toast! It's so easy but delicious, and is very nutritious as well.
Apples: Maybe they seem generic, but almost nothing beats a crisp, slightly tart, juicy apple. A for Apples!
The S Tier (Aka, the greatest fruits in the world)
Kiwi: Just like the mango, I love the texture of the kiwi, but what makes it so much more better is its sourness. I don't know why I love the feeling of a hole being burned in my tongue, but that's my taste!
Blackberries: I like berries. A lot. These berries are juicy, flavourful, and great with yogurt, and they can be found on the side of the road everywhere during the summer for free! There's only one berry I love more than blackberries....
Tomatoes: CONTROVERSIAL OPINION ALERT - Tomatoes are BOTH fruits and vegetables. When cooked, they add a pop of colour and savoury-sweet flavour (did I mention tomato soup exists?) to any meal, and when eaten as a snack, they are small, sweet, and juicy - everything I love in a fruit/vegetable! My friends can attest to this - tomatoes are my go to snack.
Raspberries: The epitome fruit that is always a fruit, this berry is perfect. No more needs to be said.
Conclusion
I apologise (to whoever is reading) about the questionable quality of this post, but I've been a bit busy/distracted with other things. This is really rushed! I will try (but cannot guarantee) to make a better post next time. Until then, enjoy (?) my controversial opinions of fruits and other foods! Happy fifth post!
